For travelers with a passion for adventure, this list is for you. With its mountainous terrain and Mediterranean coastlines, there is no shortage of adventurous activity in Valencia to keep even the most daring traveler occupied. From skydiving to white water rafting, we’ve rounded up five adventurous activities that are sure to make your next trip to Valencia a thrilling one! So get ready for some heart-pumping fun because these activities will let you explore all that Valencia has to offer from a unique perspective.
Skydive
For a once-in-a-lifetime experience drive for an hour North of the city center to reach Skydive Valencia. For the price of 300 Euros you can tandem skydive with a view of the mountains and the Mediterranean sea with a video. It is common to feel nauseous and light-headed after skydiving. So, I recommend to eat a balanced meal at least an hour before the experience.
White Water Rafting
White Water Rafting is a thrilling activity to navigate through fast currents and small waterfalls. Statistically, this is a very safe activity compared to swimming or cycling, but it is required to know how to swim in the case of an emergency. It’s recommended to wear quick-drying clothing and to avoid wearing cotton clothing since the fabric gets cold when wet. Most importantly don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for protection. This adventurous activity in Valencia costs $50 per adult and $38 for children aged 5 to 12.
Thermal Springs
The only materials needed for a day trip to the thermal springs in Valencia is a rental car. The costs vary depending on the type of car and the company used, but it’s around 100 to 150 Euros for 24 hours. I recommend packing water shoes since the rocks on the floor can hurt, a phone protector to take pictures and videos in the water, and an inflatable donut or noodle since the floor of the springs can suddenly drop. For a funny and reliable tour guide, book with Daniel on Airbnb. I booked the tour for my 20th birthday and he truly made it an unforgettable day. Don’t forget plenty of sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and towels.
Hanging Bridges and Hike Trails in Chulilla
This day trip to the Hanging Bridges requires a rental car just like the Thermal Springs. Make sure to pack plenty of cold water, quality exercise shoes, thick socks to prevent any blisters, a hat, and lots of sunscreen. There is a wide variety of hike trails in Chulilla, so ensure to get there bright and early to see the most of this beautiful mountain village. From Valencia’s city center this trip is an hour car ride. So, it may cause some elevation sickness for travelers who aren’t used to it.
Banana Boat
In the summertime, travelers can rent a banana boat along with jet skis and boats. For first-timers I’d recommend goggles to protect your eyes from the salt water that will splash into your face. The best part of the banana boat is flying off from the driver speeding. Life jackets are provided, however, it is important to let staff know if anyone is unable to swim. This adventurous activity in Valencia costs $35 per person and is perfect for families and groups.
